November 2026 Trend Report

November is shaping up to be an interesting month for social media. Between the conversation surrounding GTA 6, growing frustration with generic AI-generated content, and the increasing importance of authentic, personality-led marketing, one thing is becoming clear: brands need to start acting more like people and less like corporations.

Audiences aren’t necessarily looking for another perfectly polished campaign. They want brands that understand internet culture, have something interesting to say, and aren’t afraid to join the conversation.

This month, we’re exploring how brands can leverage cultural moments, why authenticity matters more than ever, and how the people already working inside your business could be your biggest content marketing asset.

1. GTA 6: The cultural moment brands shouldn’t ignore

Trend: Cultural relevance is becoming a marketing opportunity in its own right.

With Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled for release on 19 November 2026, one of the biggest entertainment moments of the year is creating opportunities well beyond the gaming industry.

The conversation is already bigger than the game itself. From memes about everything happening “before GTA 6” to brands exploring gaming creators, livestreams and culturally relevant campaigns, the excitement is giving marketers a reason to participate.

You don’t have to be a gaming brand to get involved. A restaurant could create a giveaway tied to the excitement. A fashion brand could lean into Vice City-inspired aesthetics. An office-based business could film its team reacting to the launch or joking about booking time off to play.

The opportunity isn’t necessarily about selling GTA-related products. It’s about finding a natural connection between what your audience is talking about and what your brand represents.

What brands should take away:

Stop treating cultural moments as something only entertainment brands can participate in. If your audience understands the reference, there’s an opportunity to create content around it. The key is to act quickly, understand the joke and avoid forcing a connection that doesn’t make sense.

Brands that can react while the conversation is happening have an opportunity to feel more relevant than those waiting weeks for a campaign to be approved.

2. AI slop: Why audiences are craving something real

Trend: As AI-generated content becomes more common, genuine human content becomes more valuable.

AI has completely changed how quickly brands can produce content. From generated visuals to automated scripts and synthetic creators, marketing teams have more tools available than ever.

But there’s a growing problem: audiences are becoming increasingly aware of content that feels mass-produced, generic or disconnected from reality. And the numbers support it.

A September 2026 Gartner survey found that 65% of US consumers believe brands are producing too much AI-generated marketing content, while 57% said AI-generated content had made them less trusting of brand messaging.

This doesn’t mean AI has no place in marketing. Far from it.

AI can be incredibly useful for concept development, editing, production and creative experimentation. The problem comes when brands use it to replace originality rather than support it.

When every brand starts producing similar-looking visuals, identical scripts and overly polished videos, the content becomes easier to ignore.

What brands should take away:

Show real people. Capture genuine reactions. Share behind-the-scenes moments. Let your content have a little personality.

Not every video needs cinematic lighting, a perfect backdrop or a meticulously written script. Sometimes, someone speaking naturally into their phone can communicate more than an expensive, highly produced campaign.

The brands that stand out won’t necessarily be the ones producing the most content. They’ll be the ones creating content that actually feels worth watching.

3. Your employees could be your best content creators

Trend: Employee-generated content is an underused opportunity for brand growth.

One of the most accessible content opportunities is your team. Employees understand your products, customers, company culture and everyday operations in a way that external creators often need time to learn.

Yet plenty of brands still rely entirely on traditional brand accounts, polished graphics and externally produced campaigns. There’s a huge opportunity to change that.

Think about the kind of content an internal team could create:

  • A marketing manager reacting to an industry trend.
  • A customer service employee answering questions they hear every day.
  • A founder sharing an opinion on something happening in their industry.
  • Team members participating in a relevant TikTok trend.
  • A quick behind-the-scenes look at the people making the business work.

This approach helps put recognizable faces behind the brand while creating a more consistent flow of content.

It can also make trend participation much easier. Rather than organizing a full production every time something becomes relevant, a team member can film a timely reaction with their phone.

What brands should take away:

You don’t need to turn every employee into an influencer. Start with the people who genuinely enjoy creating content and feel comfortable representing the business. Give them guidance, a few creative ideas and the freedom to communicate naturally.
