Carbon Reduction Plan

Company number 10869455
Publication date: 25 August 2026
Prepared in accordance with PPN 06/21, Taking account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the procurement of major government contracts, and reported using the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Favoured is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
We are a fully remote digital marketing agency. We operate no offices, no premises and no vehicles, which means the two largest sources of emissions for a business of our type, being building energy and staff commuting, are structurally absent rather than merely reduced. Our remaining footprint is concentrated almost entirely in business travel and in the energy used by colleagues working from home.
We regard that concentration as an advantage rather than a comfort. It means our reduction effort has one clear target rather than several diffuse ones, and it means our progress is easy for a client to verify.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases produced before the introduction of any carbon reduction projects. They are the reference point against which reduction is measured.
Baseline year: 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026 (financial year ending 31 July 2026)
Basis of reporting: Favoured has 25 employees and holds two company gatherings a year. Emissions are estimated using UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors for short-haul international air travel, and a recognised homeworking methodology applied per full-time equivalent. Assumptions are stated in full below so the figures can be checked and reproduced.
| Emissions scope | Source | tCO2e |
| Scope 1 | Direct emissions: company vehicles, gas, on-site fuel | 0 |
| Scope 2 | Purchased electricity, heat, steam or cooling for owned or controlled premises | 0 |
| Scope 3 | Category 4, upstream transportation and distribution | 0 |
| Category 5, waste generated in operations | Not material | |
| Category 6, business travel | 23.7 | |
| Category 7, employee commuting including homeworking | 12.5 | |
| Category 9, downstream transportation and distribution | 0 | |
| Total emissions | 36.2 |
Assumptions used, stated so they can be checked
• Business travel, 23.7 tCO2e. Two company gatherings in the baseline year, up to 25 colleagues travelling to each, at an assumed average return distance of 3,000 km, using a short-haul international economy air travel factor of 0.158 kgCO2e per passenger kilometre inclusive of radiative forcing. Travel within the United Kingdom is by rail or electric vehicle and is immaterial by comparison.
• Employee commuting and homeworking, 12.5 tCO2e. 25 full-time equivalents at 0.5 tCO2e per person per year, covering household heating and power attributable to working from home. Commuting itself is zero: Favoured has no offices, so there is no commute to report.
• Waste, not material. A fully remote digital business generates no operational waste stream at a reportable scale. Household waste from homeworking is captured within the homeworking figure.
That is 1.45 tCO2e per employee. Company gatherings account for roughly two thirds of the total footprint. We have not smoothed that over or presented it as a diffuse figure, because it is the single thing we can most meaningfully change.
Current emissions reporting
Reporting year: 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026 (financial year ending 31 July 2026)
This is Favoured’s first Carbon Reduction Plan, so the current reporting year and the baseline year are the same period. Reductions against this baseline will be reported in the next annual review.
| Emissions scope | tCO2e |
| Scope 1 | 0 |
| Scope 2 | 0 |
| Scope 3, business travel | 23.7 |
| Scope 3, employee commuting and homeworking | 12.5 |
| Total | 36.2 |
Direction of travel
From the next reporting year Favoured is changing how it holds company gatherings and does not expect to hold them overseas. Business travel within the United Kingdom is already by rail or electric vehicle as a matter of policy, with international flights kept to a minimum. On the same basis of calculation this is expected to reduce total emissions from approximately 36 tCO2e to approximately 15 tCO2e, a reduction of around 57 per cent, and from 1.45 to approximately 0.6 tCO2e per employee.
Emissions reduction targets
• We will maintain Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions at zero by remaining a fully remote business with no company vehicles. This is a structural commitment, not an aspiration.
• We will reduce total emissions by at least 50 per cent against the baseline year by 2030, principally by changing how company gatherings are held rather than by holding fewer of them, since bringing a remote team together has real value. We expect to achieve the majority of this reduction in the first reporting year.
• We will keep United Kingdom business travel to rail or electric vehicle as standing policy, and keep international flights to a minimum.
• We will procure 100 per cent renewable electricity for our cloud and hosting infrastructure where the provider offers it, and record which providers do.
• We will achieve Net Zero by 2050 at the latest.
Carbon reduction projects
Measures already in place
• Fully remote operation. Favoured has no offices. For an agency of our size a central office would generate both building energy emissions and daily commuting emissions across the whole team. We generate neither. This is the single largest reduction measure available to a business of our type and we have already taken it.
• Rail and electric vehicle travel policy. United Kingdom client and company travel is by rail or electric vehicle. International flights are kept to a minimum.
• Cloud infrastructure from providers committed to renewable energy. Our production, hosting and collaboration systems run on third-party cloud platforms rather than on owned hardware.
• Paperless operation. Client reporting, contracts and internal process are digital.
• Digital-first client delivery. Client meetings, workshops, reporting and reviews are conducted remotely by default. Travel is the exception rather than the routine.
• Choice of clients. We have chosen to work with environmentally focused organisations including Oddbox, which reduces food waste, and Elephant Box, which reduces single-use plastic.
Measures planned
• Company gatherings. Bringing a remote team together in person matters for a business where colleagues do not otherwise meet, and we do not intend to stop. We are changing how we do it. From the next reporting year we do not expect to hold gatherings overseas, which on our own figures removes roughly two thirds of our footprint. We will record the emissions of each gathering so the choice is made with the number in front of us.
• Homeworking emissions. We will estimate and report homeworking energy use per full-time equivalent using a recognised methodology, and share practical guidance with colleagues on reducing it.
• Supplier engagement. We will ask our principal software and infrastructure suppliers for their own carbon disclosures and factor that into procurement decisions.
• Annual review. This plan will be reviewed and republished annually.
